This account is very recently deliquent. I would think that if you ask for validation MBNA will validate. We usually use the validation letter when we think they can't validate. YOUR BEST OPTION would be to negoiate with the original creditor, if that is possible. Once assigned though, it is probably not possible. Computerguy, runs some sort of scheme to get rid of debt, but he charges a fee if that says anything. I usually recommend bankrupcy because it stops all threats of litigation. Eliminates a lot of stress. A judgement can be vacated, after bk but it is seperate from bk and will cost more attorney's fees. 16K is a large debt, and if you have more debt that you know you are not going to be able to pay, you are looking at a lot of collection activity and stress. That's just the way I see it.
