It depends on the value of your car, this would be the price at sheriff's sale which is very low. My guess is that your car is probably safe from judgement. Normally they can require you to appear in court and disclose assets, but since you have medical problems, I don't see why this can not be done via US mail with interrogatories. I would advise talking to a legal aid attorney to help you with this. They will be less likely to get anything if you have the help of an attorney.
