Are your SSI funds direct-deposited into your account ?? If so, then they could be 100% exempt, but in some states there is a max $$ limit allowed IN the account. If your state has a $1000 limit, then you won't get any more back.

Challenging a default judgment 4 years after the fact, especially based on improper service, is going to be very tough indeed. In most states, the MAX to appeal a judgment is 1 year and improper service is hard enough to prove when its current, let alone 4 years later.
