I totally understand your frustration. I actually did ask my original creditors for some help when I couldn't pay and knew that I would not be able to pay anytime soon. Citibank gave me a hardship program for a few months, which actually did me no good at all. The rest of them didn't give a rat's a--. So, as far as I am concerned they got what they deserved. Vent all you want, it is good for the soul.
