Derogatory (bad) information stays on your reports for 7 years from your first reported delinquency (late or past due Month). If it is not removed when it should be you can dispute it to the CRA as "obsolete". Bankruptcies stay for 10 years.
Tax Liens (unpaid) stay forever
Student Loans( Federal Guaranteed unpaid) stay forever.
