Keep in mind this is for Florida, but might be similar for your state. Usually there is a trial scheuduled.
The other thing that can happen is that they might decide not to pursue you since they like the easy target.
You should go to the library and check out all the self help law books for your state- how to represent yourself in court, guide to court, nolo makes very good source books. You might even want to go to court and watch some hearings.
