Request Validation AFTER suit has been filed?

Is it possible to request validation from a CA after he has already filed a lawsuit against me? The debt is way outside of SOL (credit card account, Virginia - 3 yrs, DOLA 4/99), but the only proof I have of this is copies of credit reports which show the DOLA. As the debt is old, I have no paper records or anything like that. The court date is April 5th, so I doubt I'd really even have time to receive proper validation from the CA...
