Forgot about the collection account. Take care of your child. You are under enough stress without dealing with these thieves. You may need that money to take care of yourself and your child. Stop talking to them. Send them a letter and tell them only to communicate in writing. Have someone else handle them. You are dealing with a very stressful situation that can potentially make you ill. Don't add to it by dealing with them. In addition, if you make a settlement, they will sell the balance of the debt to another ca and it will start all over again. What state are you in?
