sweety, i dont know the laws in louisiana..my neighbor state. find out. but know this, a collection agency will tell you ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. and usually, its all wrong. dont believe a word they tell you. they want to scare you..plain and simple. to make you somehow cough up..(ok i wanted to say the s word but i didnt lol) money for them. learn your rights and laws..whychat has links to each state..just browse..and find out the truth for yourself. i know the BK affording..some lawyers will let you pay them out. (in case you have to)..their basic fear tactics are they will come take all you own..(kids, pets included) and "you will be sued" (typed with loudspeaker and echoes included),. learn the laws for your state , dont tell them ANYTHING..they will ask believe me..i say..none ya bisness..and dont let them scare you. you will learn tons here..i welcome you to the board. :)i sure would watch it if your land is paid for tho..and check the homestead and exemptions in LA for that. when they tell you.."they will tell the OC"..original creditor..it only means your accounts are still assigned and not bought yet. thats a old, well-worn threat i hear. "we will tell capitol one"..bfd..tell tell . knock themselves out lol lol.
