First, Determine what the last date of activity was. What was the debt? Credit card? Contract?
Look at the link below and determine if the CA OR OC is still in the time to actually sue. You may be able to get it vacated. If not, you do want to contact the CA because a judgement will reset the clock on your Credit report.... http://www.cardreport.com/laws/statute-of-limitations.html
