MBNA Texas Issue

I won't bore you with the details of how I got here, but suffice it to say thatI am into MBNA for around $20K for two accounts. I received a letter stating that if the accounts were not paid in full by 1 April, then I would be sent to arbitration, and they may get a civil judgement against me. I have not filed BK previously, I live in Texas, and I am unsure of my options. Any advice? Has anyone else dealt with MBNA in Texas?
