Yes, I suggest you change your bank account, just in case.If you have a good relationship and they are reliable, a family member (who has NO credit problems of their own) would be a person to open a JOINT account with, with that person as primary(their ss # would be the one to show up in an asset search). You need have no fears on your mobile home, as if the purchase price was $35,000, the wholesale "distress" value would be under $20,000. I do not think you have to worry about the car either.

You may believe you were "current" in 2001, however if your account was unuseable due to having been frozen in 2000, or your credit limit was reduced or ANY other change in 2000 that affected the status of the account, it would be a "constructive breach" ( on the part of Providian).

What do your credit reports show as the "status" date on the Providian account?When does it show it as charged off?

I suggest you send the CA a letter, ( the SOL letter) from my website, make sure it is sent from your Utah address. Use this as the starting date of the SOL "prior to 01/31/2000
