Cal. has a 4 year SOL ( statute of limitations) beyond which you can not be sued. In addition, Ca. Courts have held that ANY collection activities beyond the legal SOL are prohibited.This includes collection activties of any kind or reporting to the credit bureaus. Send the collection agency the letter linked below (the statutes are on the Ca. page of my website- "Home" at the bottom of the Ca. page) In addition, you may file a complaint with the Ca. Attorney General's Office and the FTC.
