Did the Judge have Jurisdiction

I have lived in Florida for the past 4 years. Prior to living there, I lived in England and at that time had a credit card. I got into debt for the card and then moved over to Florida. I got sued by a collection agency based in England using a Florida lawyer.

Case went to court and I argued that the court did not have jurisdiction to hear the case since the credit card application was processed in England and all agreements were based on English rather than american law.

Judge said he had jurisdiction (1) over me, since I lived in Florida (2) over the contract since he had jurisdiction over english law

and I lost the case.

Question : Was he correct ? Any grounds here for appeal ? If so, to whom should I be appealing ?

Thanks.
