Good that you have a lawyer, because if this is a court ordered mediation, your "mediator" may not be impartial. Having said that, mediation is not binding on the parties (arbitration is, no appeal) so worst case scenario is that you will get aggravated and waste your time.

If you are definitely past the sol, your lawyer should investigate the possibility of suing the other side in federal court for suing on a past sol debt.

If they reaged illegally then that is another charge against them.

I hope you have a smart lawyer- they do specialize and it makes a huge difference.

If this is court ordered mediation, then they are trying to get you to settle out of court. Expect the worst, say nothing, sign nothing. (Esp if you are in Florida small claims court where the mediator is the ca lawyer's best friend).

You can win this. Just be prepared to get dragged through the system by this ca attorney who is trying to wear you down.
