There are only two ways for sure of dealing with a judgment. Going to the creditor and trying to work something out or going bankrupt. Some may try and run the statute of limitations on the judgment and hope that the creditor does not renew, but to do that successfully, you have to remain very quiet. That means do not apply for new credit. There is also a difference between the statute of limitations for enforcing a judgment and the statute of limitations for reporting a judgment on your credit report.
