It s possible that a judgment lien may be placed against your home. Ca. excludes $75,000 equity from any lien, so unless you own the property by yourself, and have at least $75,000 equity plus the value of the judgment, (figuring at a distress sale price,not market value) you have no concerns about the house being sold at a sheriff's sale. It will, however, impact yur ability to refinance or sell. How old is this cc debt? Have you filed an answer? If you fight them on this in Court, you will have a chance of winning.
