Getting rid of Riddle is simple: certified-mail them a cease-communication and validate letter. They will never sue you. They only have two lawyers but there are 60 nonlawyer bill collectors. Riddle takes collection accounts from all 50 states, brags their website, www.recovery-usa.com.

I am not at all a fan of Riddle and Associates, but many of the accounts they have are real and valid. I don't recommend suing them unless you can show a real violation of FDCPA. But, if your original creditor says YOUR account is not in collections, get a letter confirming that, and certified-mail them a copy too with an accompanying letter that says "write me back and let's try to settle this out of court", and after they ignore you, sue them for misrepresenting the status of the debt, one of the many no-nos under FDCPA.
