good luck with the car!! we have to have them, dont we? opting out wont help with a CA who has your account, by the way. i do hope they leave you alone. yes, the letter to not call you at work wont hurt, if you need to do one. dont unless you have to, of course. i have done that. they just call you more at home, lol. i have done it verbally and written, also. there are many companies who wont report to a CRA. in dfw..Kia there has good cars , brand new, for 6000$..and most now will finance ya with a higher interest rate. most used car ones dont report you, as the car is their collateral and they simply take it back if you miss a payment. so make sure if your gonna be late, you tell them, and why. good luck to you!!! hang on another year!!!
