What is the difference if a debt is "bougt" or collecting for the original creditor? I got a letter from a collector which "bougt" the debt from another collector and they are settling for about 1/2 owed. Can you negotiate witht hem to have it paid in full? If they offer you less than is owed isn't that the same as paid in full? They are deciding to take less...
