The reason you may encounter conflicting advise on this board, is that the law is fluid- not set- there are many different ways to reach the same destination.

There is nothing wrong with hiring a professional - such as a lawyer- who has passed the bar and proved a minimal level of competence.

I personally believe that the best way to handle these cases is with a lawyer. I have done it both ways, and I would have saved myself time and aggravation if I had done it that way from the beginning.

Having said that, there are posters who are not lawyers, not professionals, selling their services over the net. If a lawyer does not represent you properly, then you can take it up with the bar association.

If someone on the net screws up, you lost your money and your case with no recourse.
