HI, I just got a judgment entered against me. It was a default (I knew I owed it, so I just skipped the hearing), and yes I did file an appearance, answer, etc. and it all paperwork and documents were served properly. I have no angles out of it, and will now need to pay it.
My question is, how long until the judgment is "transcribed" into the superior court record AND
How long until the judgment creditor can start the garnishment process?
Basically I want to pay this off before my employer and bank start to get phone calls about it, but would like to wait the maximum amount of time I can.
Do I have like 30 days to pay, and if so whom do I pay, the court clerk or the plaintiff, or can they start garnishments immediately?
This is in WA state.
