She is not responsible. If the estate is closed, it is over. Some creditors may attempt to collect from her, but she is not responsible.


When someone dies, the executor contacts all known creditors and pays off legitimate claims. Law also requires notice in the papers. Every state has a different time limit for filing claims against the estate of the decedent. Once the estate is closed, that is it. The window is closed and the creditor has no further recourse.
