Even if there HAD been an estate, their claim, if it was valid is barred,on two counts, one, the time for asserting a claim against an estate is usually limited to 6 months to a year, second as the claim apparently did not EXIST until after his death, i.e. the default was after he died it was invalid.

I believe the truth of the matter is that she is being harrassed by a garbage scum scam CA. She should send them a cease and desist/dispute/validation letter and if they call again, record the call, (or at least tell them she is recording it) for the purpose of filing a complaint for fraudulent extortion with the State and County authorities.
