Opt Out means that you have blocked your credit files for promotional purposes.

The CRA's make a nice little side income sorting people into categories and selling marketing lists.
Opting out means that they cannot include you.

You will not get preapprovals in the mail, nor will you get your name sold to CA's looking for people applying for credit...
