Sears filed the judgment.

Maybe I have misunderstood you. I understood you to say Sherman can not legally collect *UNLESS* they first file with the court that they now own the acccount.

In other words, I thought you meant they *CAN* legally make themselves the judgment-creditor if show the court they purchased the account, but what they can't do is legally collect on it until they file with the court as new owners of the account.

So, I guess the issue is this, "If Sherman purchased the account, does Sherman have the right to file with the court and make itself the judgment creditor?"

My apologies for any confusion.
