Was the Providian/Asset thing dismissed after you filed the answer? Did they just not show up at your court date? Did the atty offer a settlement before or after the court date?

I was just served with papers last week and have to respond by Wed. I am going in tomorrow with an appearance and a Motion to Dismiss. Asset is claiming they are "assignees" of Providian.

Did they use an Exhibit where they said they "bought the account?" Did you ever find out if they really are assignee's?

Any info you have re this would be appreciated.

Also, hang in there re Mortgage - I've been able to get mortgage and refinance even with Providian/Asset on my credit reports, and with a bankruptcy (which is now off). Check out some of the online mortgage places and keep looking. Most of them are pretty willing to overlook some stuff on the credit reports.
