I have discovered some serious inaccuracies on my “credit report” when I checked the 3 in one bonanza bargain check all section. I was purchasing a mobile home but I had a person “take up payments” in 1998. The company, Green Tree Financial approved the people taking over the payments . The people took possession of the mobile home and moved it. On the credit report it shows by Experian as “transferred to another lender/claim purchased” and payment status as “account transferred to another office”. I had heard that the same year Green Tree was sold to a company called Conesco but I am uncertain. On the Equifax it shows as “repossessed” and the same on TransUnion. I have the contract papers we signed that Green Tree had that said that I am not responsible for the contract/mobile home and that the “new buyers” were, however now. It is ruining my credit. I have been turned down for credit purchases and I believe that it is a direct result of this inaccuracy on my reports. What can I do? Who should I contact? What should I say? Thanks for any tips!
