Hello All my name is Kat. I am a single mom with one child I just turning 22, and I have my dream job. Just this month I tried to lease my first car. I have never had any credit cards or loans. Even my college was paid for my grants. When the Dealer looked into my credit< me thinking I would have a problem having no credit backgroud was sharked to learn I had a dept of over $30,000.00. In reviewing the report the Dealer printed out for me I learned everything on this report was issued when I was a child. Both my parents blame the other I an fuming to say the least. I love them and dont want to see them goto jail they claim to have no idea how anyone used my SS# and name. I have called the creditors and have offered to send copies of my BC and anything else I can to prove first when the depts were made I was under age, And second to give proff of my handwriting it they should have the signed contracts. How do I get the miss off my report? How can I clear my name? Is there anyone that can tell a young woman just turning of age and coming into her own what to do?
