You CAN'T PAY THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR. THEY SOLD IT. The only one you can pay is the CA that owns it now. SOL starts with the date of last activity for the original account. THERE IS NEVER ANY REASON TO PAY A CA. What you should be doing now is protecting your assets if you have any. Protect banking info. Take a look at whether or not bk is an option for you. Protect your assets from judgements and ignore CAs. That's what you need to be doing now. If you can save a little money to hire an attorney down the road, that would be a good thing!! just my 2 cents
