The exemptions don't always apply to liens, they definitely apply to siezures. It all depends on state laws whether or not the exemptions also extend to prevent judicial liens from being placed on real property. You really have to look into the TX code to determine whether or not the 100% exemption also applies to liens.

Cat the reason for a lien is to get paid. If a lien is perfected (recorded against the deed) on your home, then the only way you can sell it is to pay off the lien first.
