NEVER NEVER NEVER ty to deal with a lying scumbag CA by phone. You have received nothing in writing from any CA. You should STOP all your payments to anyone. If you have been paying by personal check, CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT, reopen it at another bank, or if at the SAME bank make sure the NEW account is NOT linked in ANY way to the old one and have them put a "possible fraud" alert on the account for electronic transfers. From your post, I THINK I understood that this is an older debt that you have been paying SOMEONE on for some time, and that you are in Tx.?? When was the last time you paid the ORIGINAL creditor on an account that was NOT late or past due?
