That number does not match up as legit. Be careful there are telemarketers that use variations of gov sites and phones to charge a fee for a free service. (eg www.irs.com instead of www.irs.gov or www.uscis.com vs www.uscis.gov and others)

From the gov't web site this is the only phone to use:

You can register online at WWW.DONOTCALL.GOV or call toll-free, 1-888-382-1222 (TTY 1-866-290-4236), from the number you wish to register. Registration is free.
