Thanks! My problem with sending the SoL letter is that I have not heard back from the Collection Attorney with the actual date of this debt. Like I said, I have lived in a different state for just over 7 years and I can sort of figure out the year of this debt as being either 1993 or 1994. Since they have not given me the info I have requested it is hard to send that letter. Keep in mind--with my verification letter I did have one paragraph that read "I have not live in Virginia in 7 years and not in the city you collecting in for 3 years before that, and I have had no indications over the past 10 years that I left any debt unpaid." *sigh* I just wish I knew for sure they would drop this and leave me alone. I have a new born infant with a heart condition and I really don't need this stress. You know? Thanks for the help!
Did I ever mention that what I can tell from the "account number" on the collection letter --this debt is for a car loan... "buy here pay here" deals. When I financed the car the dealership told me they don't report to credit bureaus and this item has never been on my credit. I had this vehicle for one month. It stopped running and they wouldn't fix it...so I stopped paying and they came and took it. I think I made like one payment on it. I was young.... just turned 21 and had no clue about credit.
Thanks for all your help
