Sweetie, this debt is past SOL in either state. 1993 vs 1994 insignificant too. The CA can't verify. They buy these old debts for pennies on the dollar with no supporting info. I seriously doubt that they have a clue when this debt was incurred, or when you last paid it, or anything else. They go after people in the hopes that they can scare them into paying something. They are scaming you. While it is true that they CAN try to collect forever, they can not do anything about it. They can not legally force you to pay this debt because it is SOL. They can not sue you, they can not get a judgement against you, and they can't take anything from you. If they violate the FDCPA, you can sue them. YOU REALLY HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT, SO JUST FORGET ABOUT THE CA AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR BABY. HE NEEDS YOU. If the CA calls, do not speak to them, watch caller ID, let the machine pick up. Whatever works for you.
