Not much. I got legal advice early on. In my case, I had an accident. Paid minimum for about a year and then gave up and stopped paying. BUT when my financial situation changed, I sought legal advice. (ok, it was a family member) So, I protected my assets. When they sued, I simply filed bk. I was prepared to be sued because I knew I had very very very bad credit..........13 charge offs and my balances had about doubled. That was what really made me mad, plus I did try to get on hardship programs with the original creditors, they just didn't give a pooo about my siutation. AND on the few occasions that I did speak with a CA, they were nasty and threatening. That just made me more determined NOT TO PAY AND NOT TO LET THEM GET MONEY FROM ME IF THEY SUED. I am in Pa, and in my situation, state exemptions protected me.
