Well, as I already said. In my case, it worked well. As for the one that did sue, I don't think talking to them would have made a difference. I think they knew I owned a home, and didn't know that state law would protect that home. I ignored them, so maybe they thought I would ignore a law suit and they would get a judgement by default. Well, that was THEIR MISTAKE, if I had bothered to talk to them, maybe they would have realized that I was not one to "toy" with. Then on the other hand, I probably would have pissed them off to the point of forcing them to sue. I tend to think these people would have sued me no matter what I did. BUT, that was ok because I was prepared to be sued. I was served Friday evening about 5PM (they seem to like those Friday nights) and my attorney made the phone call to their attorney Monday at about 2PM. So, they wasted their time and money on me. AND the only regret that I have is that I did pay those minimum payments for a year and that I did not bile bk sooner. Could have saved myself some money and stress.
