I corrected your spelling of "controversy".

When a charged off account is assigned or sold it does not transfer the credit card agreement, only the account balance due.There is no longer any active account relationship.

The only time the issue you raised comes into play is, (on a GOOD ACTIVE account) if your credit card company was sold to another bank,when this occurs you get a notice and are asked to agree to the transfer.You are also given the option to close the account and pay it off on the existing terms.
