when is an origanol crediter out of the pictur?

hi
we're curious because we sent a demand for validation to a collection agency....and they still try to collect constantly by phone (no more letters).
today we got a letter from the origanol crediter whose providian, who sent a copy of the last statement, and some telemarketer entry page with it??
does the collection ageency have to validate, or can they rely on the origanol crediter and still keep the account? thank for your help!
