Make sure your bank account is reduced down to a minimum, open another jointly with somone else as primary.

In SOME cases, in SOME States, it is better to accept a default judgment than to declare BK.

If, for instance, you are in a State where a judgment is for 7 years or less,and there is no risk of wage garnishment, and you have no assailable assets, then you can live with a default judgment, also known as "poor man's BK"
