This is long pas SOL. Don't pay them. Send the letters. If they sue, SOL is a positive defense. They probably will not sue once they know that you are aware of the SOL and the laws that protect you. CAs and their attorneys bank (literally) on the consumer NOT KNOWING THEIR RIGHTS.
