Why Chat/Old settlement offer to OC w/ursury threat

has come back thru a CA. I sent a ltr to OC offering settlement with some restrictive language eight months ago. Also made hints in ltr that OC broke Texas ursury laws.
I believe I read somewhere on here (can't find) that a settlement offer of that type cannot be used "against" me later. It was some kind of court procedural violation.
Does that sound familiar and can you advise?
