Rule 1. Never ignore a summons. THe other side
gets a default judgment.
Rule 2. An appeal is not easier than dealing
with the original summons. Many lawyers
don't even do them- they bring in expert
lawyer.
Rule 3. See rule one.

What state.
When did you pay the original creditor.

If you are past sol, a lawyer MIGHT represent you on contingency fee.

If not, try legal aid.
