thats EXACTLY what CAs do..another reason to not pay them. keep all your proof of payments. it will help should you need it in court. tell the law office you are making payments..not that they will care, im sure. however , if your behind and the payments are not enought to catch up..in fine print they can sue you anyways. only pay what you can, they cant force you to pay anything. even a judgement is only good if you have assets. i would keep paying what i am..since you already started it, and ignore the mouthing until you are served. have all your proof on hand and answer the suit. prolly they are only mouthing to see if they can force more..one trick they have, when you pay something, is to work on forcing more. like..blood attracts sharks to feed.
