Are you saying I'm very arrogant for wanting to keep a credit card? I do know that just because you're filing chapter 7, it doesn't mean you can not re-affirm any unsecured account. I have not favored any accounts at all by paying large amounts over $700 within the last 90 days. Also, my Amex is not used very often. Last months bill was $56 and I haven't been charging over $120/month for the last 5 months. I was paying all my credit cards equally. I would pay a lot of them off until 6 months ago when I became very sick from chemo. I didn't have a spending spree and most of my charges on the other cards were medical bills and prescriptions.

I know Amex is not the greatest, but considering my balance is 0 and I've been in good standing with them from day one, I figured I would be better off keeping this card vs the other 2 cards with balances. I'm very sure considering the history with my spending, the courts would allow re-affirmation. My main concern is if AMEX allows it or not. As I stated, one amex employee found the company's documentation that states a customer in good standing may re-affirm if he requests to do so. I know it sounds like I have my answer there, but after calling back today to confirm it's still valid.....I get a different response. So, if anyone has been in the same situation, please tell me if what the first employee at amex stated was correct. Thank you.
