Go onto the website for the county where you were served. They should have an appearance form, if not go to the room where the summons says to appear and they can give you one. When drafting an answer, just follow the set-up of their complaint, use the same caption, title, and either admit or deny or state "no knowledge" to everything they say. If you admit to anything they can use that in court. If you deny or say you have no knowledge they have to prove their claims. If you are answering without an attorney sign it with your name "pro se". If they have the complaint verified (meaning they have a page saying what they've written is true to their knowledge and belief) you must verify your answer. Read the summons, you might not have to supply an answer.

Just be sure to file an appearance before the return date.
