Long story, but last August we stopped paying our credit cards. All but two, actually. We currently have two credit cards with high credit limits for emergencies. At the time we stopped paying the CCs we were planning to file BK. Along the line we decided that we didn't want to tell the world about every hand towel we own or who we owe. Since August 2003 our accounts were charged off and OCs and CAs have made offers settle. With that in mind we are saving money to settle if we can. Oh, yeah, they have called and called and called. But we get amusement from the messages they leave. You know, those stern voices telling us to call TODAY or else. I hate to sound glib, but most of our accounts were from the late 80 and early 90s. We've paid probably $1000 for the $300 we borrowed and go sick of it. Since we live in Texas we don't really fear a summons or a judgement. If we get one, we will answer and make them prove the debt. But we don't really care if they get one since they really can't make us pay them. We don't have anything outside of the exemptions and I'm 100% certain that we -never will- unless we win the lotto. I am so relaxed about it and I see people on here freaking out because they receive a collection letter. Believe me, I get about 3 or 4 a day. So, am I crazy, should I be worried?
