I like the PerfectCard from Chase. It gives 1% rebate on all purchases and 3% on gasoline (or anything else you buy at a gas station). It is almost an "instant" rebate in that it's credited against any purchase the following month. No waiting for a check at the end of the year or dealing with some bogus "points" system. I think they have a promotional period where the gas rebate is doubled for the first two months. That will add up fast these days.

Be sure to have the discipline to pay in full on time every month, or the high APR will eat up the rebate and then some. Best to use it only for stuff you were going to buy anyway, like gas and groceries.
