When was the last time you paid the original creditor while the account was still current? Was it a credit card debt? You may be outside the statute of limitations and they may be unable to legally collect. If CC debt, they have to file within five years.

If you file an appearance by June 9th, you'll have ten more days to file your answer. Your first court date will probably be within 14 days (nothing happened for me on the first court date except it was set to trial on a future date). If you file an answer at the same time as your appearance, your trial date will probably be within ten weeks.
