Creditors are not required to notify you that you're being sent to collections. Its all in the CC agreement that if you default they can and will assign the account to inhouse or 3rd party collections. Its NOT a scare tactic, its standard operating procedure.

You had adequate notice with the notices on your monthly bills telling you they expect payment immediately for the past due balance !
